Systems Malfunction
"History is what you make it."

Systems Malfunction is a science-fiction roleplaying game that has been in extensive playtesting for four years on the campus of SUNY Purchase in upstate New York. Now, after four years, several hundred game sessions, and four distinct editions of the rules, this brand of post-apocalyptic spacepunk has finally been deemed ready for a public release. With its definitive rulebook finalized, Systems is in its fourth draft, but we have now arrived at what we are proud to call the real "First Edition". Expect to see Systems Malfunction cropping up at game stores, conventions, and all kinds of places over the next few years.

If you are interested in playing Systems, running Systems, buying Systems, or are just curious, please contact Devon Oratz, the game's creator, line developer, and editor at ghostlightgames (AT) gmail (DOT) com.

In the mean time, returning players can finally download the complete and definitive core rulebook from this site, eliminating the need for a constantly-updated wiki. The zipped download package includes a .doc of the rulebook (which will eventually be finalized to a PDF file and then an actual printed book, most likely softcover for the first print run) and an alternate .RTF file with the same information for users who have trouble with Microsoft Word. A free font called Neuropol designed by Ray Larabie is also included in the bundle- install it to ensure you can view the rulebook as it was intended to be read. Finally, a Systems Malfunction character sheet is included for both .doc and .rtf formats. The download link is protected by a simple password query that every past, present, and future Systems player should know. : )
